The augmentation, the reduction or the lifting of the breasts is one of the procedures most commonly performed in the United States and the world.  This surgery can drastically change the appearance  of the breasts.  There are various methods for changing the appearance of the breasts and these depend on the size, characteristics and wishes of the patient.

 

The mamoplasty for Augmentation is a procedure used for enlarging the size of small breasts due to lack of growth  or because they decreased in size after pregnancies, the mamary augmentation is done by placing a silicone implant, which is totally harmless to the patient.  The results are phenomenal in the majority of the cases.

 

After the mamoplasy for augmentation surgery, the patient will wear a special  brassier for a few weeks.  The sutures are absorbed by the organism, so there is no need to have the stitches taken out.  Two week rest after surgery is essential.  It is recommended that no intense physical activity be carried out during the first 2 months after the surgery.

 

A Mamoplasty is usually performed under a spinal anesthetic and can involve an incision around the aureola and another in the form of a ¨¨J¨¨  -   Usually only a small incision  around the aureola is perfomed  for the placement of the implants, in the case of an augamentation mamoplasty .

 

In the majority of the cases, it may be done ambulatory, which means you need only be in the clinic for a few hours after the procedure.
